Dog unhappy at night in new house

You could also try "be calm". Its a liquid with chamomile & ginger if memory serves. Can get it from pets at home for £5 or online for about £3.70 approx (or it was the last time I checked). You just add it with their food.
It helps a lot in situations where a dog may be stressed or anxious. One of mine used to be sick if she was in the car any longer than 10 minutes. I start giving her this a day or two before we go away and she can go 3hours+ and is chilled out the entire way. I was actually surprised at how effective it was (tried on recommendation from a friend who in turn had it recommended by the behaviour trainer they see for their dogs).
Its likely (imo) that your dog is feeling unsettled/insecure in the new home and this is why he's barking at the slightest noise. Another solution may be a dog crate with a blanket over it, perhaps even starting out in the bedroom and then slowly moving him back into the rest of the house? It can help them feel safe and secure from any perceived threats. You also get sprays from around £5 you can spray on their bed to help calm them also (can check the name of the one I use when I get home if you'd like). You keep using that word. with a well worn unwashed t-shirt of yours so he has your smell close by?0
