One Family Car, One Small Car or Two Small Cars?

May depend on where you live and how much you travel. My daughter and family have had the same Focus for 16 years, bringing up two children who are now 16 and 13 but they live in London. My son has a Jag. XF, a Zafira and a Mini Cooper plus 3 almost adult children but they live in a village near Cambridge with little public transport.

We went with a CRV and a Focus when we were in the same boat. Have an almost 5 year old and an almost 3 year old. Changed the CRV to a Qashqai as once we only needed to carry around 1 pushchair we didn't really need the huge boot of a CRV (although the CRV wasn't specifically replaced for that reason - it needed changing because of an issue the dealer could not rectify so offered to buy it back).

I personally preferred to get an SUV over an estate as the boot was higher which for me made it easier to load and unload.

Zafira and Panda for us, the Panda will cary four adults,

• both of us drive for work, person going further takes the Panda
• Short family trips in the Panda
• Zafira when we need the boot.
