Is it worth buying Apple TV to get Disney Life or will it soon come to Roku?

I really want Disney Life but I only have a Roku and it's not supported. I do have an iPad but I don't want to watch movies on a tiny screen. I know a chromecast would let me 'mirror' the screen but it sounds complicated and I'm worried that might slow my broadband if I'm using the iPad at the same time.
I was thinking I could buy an Apple TV box, maybe a used one on eBay, but would it have any other perks compared to my Roku? Or should I just wait and hope they increase the platforms it's available on?
