Thailand Christmas Beach Accomodation

I am luck enough to be in Thailand (Phuket) for Christmas with my partner and son (13). I would love to stay somewhere nice that is pretty much on the beach but am struggling to find somewhere that is nice and within budget (in the region of £100 per night).
My partner would like a hotel or complex that has other people/children there rather than renting a house/apartment through AirBnB.

Am I living in dreamland or is there anything that anyone can recommend we look at?

Do you want to stay in Phuket or consider nearby places such as Khoa Lak?

Have a look at Kamala Beach, it's a nice beach, not too busy and there are hotels right on it.

    Definitely staying in Phuket.

Have looked at Kamala beach but unfortunately for somewhere nice we would be over budget!

It looks like the boss has settled for Kata. I never imagined we would have 3 evenings of arguing over a hotel booking!

Phuket is an island: the main resort area is Patong, but there are other places to stay on the island. Not to mention nearby islands, and there are beaches on the mainland near there as well...

I imagine Phuket will be packed to the rafters at Xmas. The high end week of the High Season. That'll either rock your boat or sink it.
