Reimburse collection costs

I purchased a pushchair from eBay. It was described as one year old, occasionally used, good working order and clean condition. The ad stated that there was fading to the seat but i knew I could dye fabric so wasn't too bothered by that.
After collecting the pushchair (an hour round trip) my husband took it out of car and I noticed straight away that it was filthy, rusty and the wheels were worn through to the lining. I messaged the seller saying I wasn't happy and that in future she should be more honest. She replied saying the wheels don't affect use but she'd give me a refund. Due to the long journey I couldn't be bothered with the hassle of returning.
However, today I put the pushchair up and the frame is also broken. I contacted her again saying id like a refund as it's unsafe. I asked for her to arrange collection so I'm not out of pocket anymore than I already am. She is refusing.
Am I being unreasonable expecting her to reimburse me for travel? Do I leave it upto ebay to intervene? What are my chances of them acting in my favour? Cursing my husband for not inspecting it properly!!!
Thanks in advance!

Your husband should have checked it before paying and taking it away.0

Yes, your husband should have inspected it before he paid and took it away. Sorry.0

Do not forget you are also entitled to claim for costs for the counselling you will require to deal with this horrific experience.
If you opened a return or case for not as described you'd have to prove you returned the item (i.e online tracking) to get your money back. They can not force a seller to refund any extra costs. You can always leave appropriate feedback. If it really bothers you that much, you'd have to go back and take it back for a refund. However if the seller rightly told you to get stuffed then you have little choice of what to do. Personally I'd leave a negative, either dump the pushchair or see if you can repair it and then move on with your life.0 -

Ebay won't do anything if buyer paid cash. Sold as seen. If buyer was unhappy then they shouldn't have paid.
Ebay can only refund via Paypal and they can't refund something that wasn't paid in that way.0 -

I assume you paid cash?
Cash on collection is sold as seen and, as others have said, your husband should have checked it over before paying.
Seller offered a refund despite not having to and you refused you. You had the chance and didn't take it.
If you go to ebay you have a no chance of them doing anything over a cash on collection item. There's nothing they can do. It was sold as seen. They can't refund via a different method to what you paid as that wouldn't be right.
If, however, you did pay via Paypal it was stupid of the seller to allow that but it works in your favour as you can return the item for a refund. If it's within 30 days of purchase and you go through ebay you'll get a pre-paid postable label to return it.0
