Oh ho im in trouble, bailiff came along and burst our bubble.

Oh well,
Like many I suppose I am in a bit of a difficult financial position and I don't know what I can do about it.
Firstly I ought to point out that we are on benefits - hence never any money and a limited amount to make payments to CC I had last year when we were both at work.
So heres our SOA
Incapacity Benefit £98.10 week
DLA £33 week
Income Support £20.35 week
Child Benefit £18.10
Maintenece £20.00
Tax credits £172.?? 4weekly.
£232.55 week.
£664.?? Every 4 weeks is the equate.
Rent top up £74 every 4 weeks
Food £50 week for 3
Gas £20 week
Electric £20 week
Water £20 week
Council Tax 0 as on benefits
T.v licence £30 month
Telephone/t.v package and Broadband £37 month
Car Insurance £19 month
Mobile £20 month
Capital one £350
Provident (yes i know, its awful, but it was the only way we could keep our house at the time) £15 a week
Car £10 week
Petrol £10week
I dont think there is anything else
Rent No arrears
Gas £250 Arrears gettin prepayment meters fitted 2mrw
Elec £470 Arrears Gettin prepayment meters fitted 2mrw
Water Arrears £350 Haven't delt with this yet
Council tax. Where do I start with this? Bailiff turned up today because we had missed a repayment due to my daughter breaking her arm and needing surgery so spent the money on sponsoring the local hospital car park im affraid. Also he called with a VAN notice so looks like we are well in the !!!!!! there, Hubby is calling the council direct 2mrw to see if there is anything we can arrange with them. I simply don't have £1550 quid to give them.
T.V licence, one of those things that gripes u when paying, but have to have.
Must have the car as I am disabled.
mobile have 12month on the contract
Broadband/tv/phone we currently have "free services" this is because virgin media could not provide us with a serivce for the best part of 4weeks We have 3months free movies. 6months free on the large t.v package and 6 free 20meg broadband as an employee called me and idiot and at the time was being recorded, so a little bonus there this started 3weeks ago.
Provident £258 left
Capital one, been given a court order to sort out.
so, that is it, that is our life there infront of me and it feels pretty [EMAIL="!!!!"]!!!![/EMAIL].
I am open to suggestion, ANYONE!! I suppose life seems like a big balg tunnel at the moment and I cant find the way out.
I'll look forward to ANY help and advice.

what tv package do you have? can you cancel it?
£200 a month is quite high on food, do you meal plan? have a look at the old style board for inspiration on this.

Hi redballoon.
I can't work due to mental illness. which isn't good at all.
£200 is £50 a week it feeds 3 people and I do meal plan. I have to so hubby knows what he's gettin at the supermarket. in the £200 is toiletories, cleaning fluids and packed lunches for school. I could possibly shave the food down to £40 a week
I have the XL t.v package, but that is free for the next 5 and a half months, obviously after that it will be down to the minimum.

i've worked it out, your outgoings per month are £1332 and incomings as you said are £664, so £668 over each month.
the work would be all done online, is that an option?

Ive worked my outgoings out at £780.00??
Havent contacted CAB last time I contacted them they were about as much use as a chocolate frying pan. I do acknowledge that they do fantastic work tho when they have the time and resauces and also i find if u go to the city CAB centers u get more help than the town centers.

the credit card is £330 in total I owe and havent come to an agreement to pay this back yet even tho I have had a court demand.

How much are you paying for Council Tax arrears, if as you say, you missed a payment?
If its something silly a month have you tried contacting them with your income/expenditure and making a reasonable offer? or are you paying as ordered by the court?
If you were not on benefits when the court order was made, can you apply for a variation (I think its called) in the repayment?

The credit card should be the last thing you worry about. What sort of court demand have you had? Is it the blue and white CCJ papers?0

Yes, I did sign a walk in possession. My own fault, I didn't know what I was signing really, obviously I know now.
This morning at 9am we will phone the council to see if we can stop the bailiff proceedings as the bailiffs advice was "phone the office (Smiths Bailiffs) and make an appointment to see me on Thursday to disscuss a payment plan with me" which we did but he wants £100 on Thursday that I just dont have.
When we have had a reply from the council I shall post our situation then.
