Dodgy eBay Purchase

Hi, I bought a newish MacBook costing £700 on ebay at the end of March. Two weeks ago, the laptop stopped being able to pick up wifi. It was sent away for diagnosis and the logicboard is faulty and will cost £500 to replace. Ebay says I'm not covered as it is outside of their one month cover but said PayPal should cover…

It's not a dodgy purchase - it worked when you bought it.
If you want a warranty, buy from a shop - you bought 2nd hand off another individual, so took the risk.

You'll need to pay to have it repaired if it's not under Apple's warranty.
