Drugs ordering reminder

Boots lost my custom 6 months ago - they failed to even provide my necessary drugs given 1 weeks notice - I now use a local chemists !!
I don't think that they have a repeat service
They might not be perfect, but they are considerably better at getting my husband his medication before it runs out than he is. His memory is like a sieve since he had a stroke.
He chose Boots as it opens late so he can collect after work. His choice, and he sorted it, and I like to give him what independence I can.Zebras rock0 -
Boots have a small pharmacy opposite my GPs, so it's easy to deal with problems.
I refused to deal with Lloyds , also a few hundred metres away, when one of their assistants was quite rude and disputed that it was possible to buy soluble aspirin 'off the shelf' instead of via prescription, when the product was there in full view.
I then went to a small local, which regularly failed to order my repeat, once actually losing the prescription sheet, so I movd to Boots, where I was even offered free delivery.
Any complaints about Boots pharmacy services can be made above branch level : I once complained that I had been prescribed normal, instead of gastro-enteric aspirin (even though counter-signed and no big problem, but it could have been, if a dangerous alternative had been sent).
I received an apology, a promise that the staff would be told to tighten up on checking and a gift voucher. There was , also, a follow up phone call explaining that a temporary pharmacist had been on duty and that she had been warned about the possible consequences of carelessness.0 -

I used to use Boots for my repeat prescriptions but they took over two weeks to obtain one commonly requested drug and almost a month to obtain a pair of compression socks - they admitted that they had made a mistake and two months later, the same thing happened again - they appear to have a complete lack of ability to deal with the simplest request - so I went to a local independant chemist - who have not put a foot wrong !!
Boots were taken over by a US based conglomerate Walgreens, two years ago and at that point - I noticed that they started to go downhill (up until 2014, I had used Boots for everything).0 -

I did not know that. The two stores near me have been getting steadily worse over the last year or two. They take ages to get anything and the service is terrible. Typically I would go in mid morning when the store was quiet and would be told the wait was two hours. I would go back in two hours and they would say 'ooops, the pharmacist hasn't started it yet'. So I would go back the next day and they still wouldn't have started it or the pharmacist would have gone 'somewhere... we don't know how long for...' so they could not give me the prescription. I have now switched to Superdrug who are so quick and efficient.0 -
They have made the odd mistake, but my tramadol, which cannot be ordered electronically, was not ordered, they went across to my GP surgery and got things sorted, immediately. Any drug they haven't stocked, has been obtained the next day, too.
I order all my prescriptions, including Tramadol, online. I do this when I have 3/4 days worth of medication left.
They are sent to Lloyds Pharmacy electronically apart from the Tramadol which has to go by old fashioned paper prescription. (Good job it's only a few yards away:)).
Lloyds then deliver it to the house when it is ready.0 -

I keep an eye on medication levels and when half down, use patient access to put in a repeat prescription request. It can be an utter pain but I've found it the easiest method.
I'd love a pharmacy to do it for me and recently tried Lloyds. An utter shambles, they failed me three times when they could have used a bit of common sense to sort things out. Staff once told me the date on their own reminder card was irrelevant and I should return the following week. I can't trust the next nearest pharmacy, they are extremely disorganised and once gave me someone else's diabetes drugs in error!0 -
