Claim I claim anything as unable to fly?

My husband and I were due to fly out this morning on a Thomas cook package holiday to celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary. My husband was up all last night stressing, feeling unwell and panicing about flying. We had already checked in on line but when it came to leave this morning he broke down and couldn't bring himself to get on the plane. I went into the airport to advise the desks that we would not be boarding. He has gotten to be a worse flyer over the years but never not got on a plane. I have him booked in the doctors this morning but I was wondering if anyone could advise me if there is anyway that I can claim any part of the money back from either agent or on insurance?

No.
Disinclination to travel is not covered0 -
Have a good read of your insurance, but if he's had a bit of a fear of flying before then a successful claim may be unlikely.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Firstly I am so sorry to hear of the problem but equally sorry to say you have lost most of your money. I very much doubt your insurer will consider a fear of flying as as insurable risk, not least because anyone could say they woke up and were frightened to fly as an excuse to make a claim. Psychological issues are normally specifically excluded from travel insurance.
You should be able to claim back the APD tax but that is only £13 per person for a European flight, contact Thomas Cooks as there may be an administration charge that will swallow most of it. I hope your husband recovers, a 'fear of flying' course might help, it includes a short flight with lots of helpers on board and many people say it really works.0 -
I don't think so. He's not medically unable to fly and no doctor will sign to say that he is. I know anxiety and fear isn't a choice but I doubt it's covered.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0
