I have a large folder of .JPGs and other docs on my PC from Ancestry - I am trying to create a DVD for a relative with everything on it - but am trying to make it user friendly (ie not just a list - but a thumbnailed / linked list - so she can select an individual to see what docs there are on this person)
Is there an automated way of doing this or will I have to go through each individual person, create a folder and copy the docs to them ?

I think the latter then Explorer, if they are using Windows, will work fine.

I've never been a fan of large folders full of disparate info. I tend to file things only in related folders and sub-folders and will often rearrange them when some new information or change requires it.

Perhaps it's down to a career as a database programmer and the way my mind works. It does take a little time and effort every time you save something to make sure it's saved in the right place and it can make you file system look complicated but I can always find what I need.

I have friends and colleagues who dump stuff in a 'download' folder or only categorise by either Document or Picture who then spend hours tracking down something they know they have.........somewhere.

Would an automated process be able to reliably decide what documents and picture are related and should be grouped?
One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.
