Absolutely the best way to give your daughter plantar fasciitis, one of the most painful conditions ever.

    Go for it OP!

I have an excruciatingly painful problem with my hip which doctors say is caused by lack of arch support in shoes which lead to collapsed arches and overpronation of the foot. Even wearing orthotics to address the issue as an adult doesn't relieve the pain which prevents me walking or standing for long in my forties :(

I'm very careful with my own kids shoes even though they are 15 and 16 years old as a result. They can wear fashion shoes to go out but decent supportive shoes are needed for school and for sports.

When I was referred to a NHS podiatrist (for a verucca that turned out be be a corn) she asked me what footwear I wore in the house.

I said 'slippers' and she said trainers were best.
So I have a brand-new, never-worn-outside pair of trainers for the winter and a good pair of trekking sandals for the summer - ust for house wear.
She was also pretty scathing about the traditional style UGGs.

I do wear UGGs but not all day and I wear this sort of style which has much more support.
