The word to is missing in a couple of places. E.g.

The car park signage failed to notify the driver that Premier intended

Also I think by contemporary you meant contemporaneous?

I would complain to the bishop of the local diocese about the disgusting behaviour of the church, their contractor, and the vicar himself. It has spoiled what should have been the happiest day of your life and turned you away from ever attending church again.

Get your guests all to do a similar letter.

Remind the bishop that the christian religion is not about making money, but about charity, helping others, and forgiveness.

Frankly that is a pretty $!!!!!! attitude on the part of the vicar considering the many hundreds of pounds that the OP paid the church for their wedding.

Why doesn't the church offer a flat rate all encompassing fee to cover parking for all the guests & roll it into the fee for the wedding? Say £50-100? This situation must be a weekly occurrence. There are always bound to be guests who don't see the signs or don't have change or mis-type their registration.

The church may not own the land.

It's always those that don't attend regularly that demand the most from it. Every church of England church is funded by the community that worships there. The costs of weddings do not reflect the true cost - probably the only "supplier" in a wedding that, at most, breaks even.

Are you trying to help the OP here? The regulars are!

  • Dear all,
Many thanks for your kind advice. One of my guests just received a message from POPLA regarding his appeal:
Thank you for submitting your parking charge Appeal to POPLA.
An Appeal has been opened with the reference XXXXXXXXXX.
Premier Park have told us they do not wish to contest the Appeal. This means that your Appeal is successful and you do not need to pay the parking charge.
    Yours sincerely
    POPLA Team

I can't thank you guys enough....
I will ask the other guests to submit their appeals asap as well! :D
  • Excellent - let's hope this opens the floodgates for more cancellations. :)

Make sure all of the other guests get their submissions in before their POPLA codes expire.
