Hello, We are getting married on Christmas eve and only have 15 people attending including us!!

    We have everything already planned.

We are having a registry office wedding followed by a family meal in a restaurant. We were originally looking for a restaurant with a side/function room as stated above. We ended up falling in love with a restaurant because of their food and as it happens they are normally shut on Christmas eve because of preparations for Christmas Day - They are however, allowing us in!

Yes, I'm still thinking reg office and garden party at the moment as being the best option. Will check out the buffet from waitrose and get the garden tody and sorted! Thanks

What I found about waitrose, was every thing came ready to serve , I just needed to add spoons, tongs etc. Just peal of the tops and away you went. Having it delivered just before we left for the ceremony also meant I wasn't worrying about fridge space

I got big bowls of salads, some terrines, a salmon, a few desserts then supplemented with those tiny rolls from marks, a chess board, cocktail sausages etc, there was plenty of food for everyone and plenty of left overs

I also used eBay for flowers, ribbons, balloons , cake boxes, invites

Still have my wedding flowers, and wedding dress and sandals :)

The helium balloons for the garden were a really cheap way of decorating it. I also used those fence hanging planters to add more colour, planting them up with cheap petunias which grow very fast and puduce hundreds of flowers

Best about a diy wedding, is you are in complete control You know your budget, you know what you want and can afford, no one pressing you to have extras

Does the food arrive on serving trays or do you need to buy those?
    Thanks

Salads came in big clear bowls, terrines and salmon came on trays. The salmon was dressed. Just lift the lids and away you went. Easy. Just needed serving spoons and tongs
