I'll bite.

I had a really bad experience with a nurse once, I'm not stupid enough to think all nurses are useless....

In terms of medical terminology and spelling, our dictate system wont let you issue a letter unless it has been sent to a doctor to authoise, they then "commit" the letter which is sent to the GP, patient etc. So, after we have done our bit, its up to the doctor to make any corrections. Perhaps their medical terminology is not up to scratch......

Just wanted to say a big 'thank you' to everyone for contributing. Ironically not long after writing this both my babies became very poorly with diarrhoea and vomiting, so I've spent a long time at the doctors/ hospitals myself recently!! Just starting to see the end of their sickness bug, and the endless washing it's caused.....

I've made an appointment to see Pitman at the beginning of August to discuss the AMSPAR qualification; they think I won't have to do all of it as I have relevant work experience already, I'll wait and see what their cost is for the bits I do need! I haven't heard anything from my work about returning from maternity leave despite chasing them up a month ago and also last week, makes me wonder if redundancy is on the cards after all, at which point an alternative career plan would definitely be useful.
