Term time working take home pay

I am thinking about asking to work term time when my son starts school. Currently I work full time and get 33 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays a year salary £22,000.
If school holidays for the year are 14 weeks. Then I will only be working 38 weeks of the year. So my yearly salary will be £22,000 divided by 38 weeks - £16,076
However, as I am entitled to 6.6 weeks holiday a year, then that should be taken into account as well, so now I will be working for 44.6 weeks making my yearly salary £18,869.
I don't really understand what will happen with the bank holidays though. These will also fall into the school holidays so I will not be working these. Do these get added onto my leave entitlement too, so now it will be classed as me working 46.2 weeks making my yearly salary £19,546.
Does this sound right?

I'm not sure how holidays work with term time working, but it doesn't seem right to me that if you cut the number of weeks you work you still retain the same amount of holiday - I'd expect to see the number of days holiday you are entitled to reduced proportionally ?0 -
First thing you need to figure is whether you are asking for term-time working (which is 38 weeks of the year, and a proportionate decrease in your A/L and P/H allowance with the expectation that you will take those during the 38 weeks);
or for flexible working of 45 or 46 weeks per year (with a smaller but still proportionate decrease in A/L and P/H), forcing your employer to accept that you will only work for the 38 weeks that coincide with school terms and that you will always take your holiday to coincide with school breaks.

Term Time Working
Term Time working allows employees to remain on a permanent contract and gives them the right to time off during school holidays. Time off is comprised of a combination of paid and unpaid leave where an individuals salary will be calculated and received in 12 equal monthly payments which will be inclusive of annual leave entitlement. The member of staff can be either a full time or part time employee during this time at work.
This arrangement is particularly suitable for employees with domestic responsibilities, as term time allows carers of school age children to work during the school term and to take leave during the school holidays.
Individuals on term time contracts will be required to agree with their line manager on an annual basis their working pattern for the year. Annual hours worked and paid annual leave entitlement will be calculated and averaged over a 12 month period to allow 12 equal monthly payments to be made.0 -

Currently you are in work for about 220 days of the year, assuming you work 5 days a week.
5/7 ths of 365 = 261
261 - 33 holidays - 8 bank hols = 220
You are asking to be in work for 38 weeks, 38 x 5 = 190 days
So I make it your salary should be 190/220ths of full time. On a £22k salary this works out as £19k.But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

I would go with the following prorata
convert holidays into weeks
full time, holidays 33+8 = 8.2weeks work 43.8weeks
term time work 38 holidays 8.2*38/43.8 = 7.114155(35.571) total 45.114155
£22k*45.114155/52 = 19086.76
As you get paid and unpaid holidays there is no need to round the holidays to a 1/2 or full day.0 -
Make sure that the exit rules are well defined and the holiday year is documented.
People often complain that they get underpaid when they leave on term time part way through the year as the payment are spread over 12months.0 -
