Insurance Holiday/Postponement with Hastings

I've sold my car and I was wondering if Hastings Direct would let me suspend my insurance until I get a new car? I couldn't find anything on their website and I'd rather not have to pay £45 to cancel my policy or have it deducted from what I'd be due back when it ends in September.

Ask them.
You do need to inform them you no longer own the car.0 -
We did this, after contacting them when we sold the car privately they sent us a letter giving 7 days in which to register a new car or the insurance would be cancelled.0

So I contacted them over their web chat earlier and they offered the 7 day grace period but I chose to cancel the insurance as I wouldn't be able to get a new car in time.0
