in N. Ireland
I've already posted in the mobile forum but thought I'd come here for some cross border information
I'm often down South and I frequently roam into Vodafones Southern network while here in the North. Money wise not good. My contract with Vodafone has ended and I'm beginning to shop around
So I'm after recommendations on Networks which might cut out these tarrifs. At the moment I'm thinking BT as I have my landline and Internet with them and they seem to be offering a good deal on Sim only but I haven't checked out their roaming charges. Would appreciate your experiences

Three? Free roaming in lots of countries.0

Three are great, they have 6 months half price offer on at the minute but I have been using their pay-as-you go service for almost 2 years and think it's great.0

I ask because I was in the Vodafone shop the other day and they were offering, I've lost the quote but I think it was £16 for 900 min and if you add on another £2 a month it becomes unlimited calls, North and South, on a Sim only deal. But I'll need to check that again0 -
All new (after 6th May) Vodafone contracts offer "Free" roaming in Europe, some 26 odd countries from memory. I too use Vodafone Ireland though as this allows my calls to Irish numbers as part of my plan as with my data0

Are you on a contract, how much?

I'm on a SIM-only deal with Vodafone in the UK. It was £10.50 a month for 12-months, but now I'm out of contract it's £15.50/month, so time to shop around.
I get unlimited minutes and texts and 1GB data.
I'm not sure about roaming costs, but if you hop across the border regularly, would it be worth getting a SIM card for each region so you don't have to pay for roaming?0 -

You have to have 2 separate numbers and UK callers will have to call an international number most likely not included in their own plan
Tesco has free roaming at the moment for the summer0 -

You definitely should shop around, that's expensive for what you're getting.0
