motorbike stolen

Hi my motorbike was stolen last night/this morning,


I have reported it to the police and insurance.


how long does it normally take for a claim to be paid out.

    There are no rules. Probably about a fortnight - depending on who your insurer is.

    Sorry to hear the news. Don't automatically expect settlement of the claim - you might get the bike back yet. What was it?

    It depends - In my case it was nearer nine months for the full value, although a small interim payout arrived at around six weeks.

    This may be because the remains of the bike were not recovered nearer the time - it was nearly a year before that happened. :(

    You need to ask your insurer as different companies work to different timescales

    I was paid out in a couple of weeks when my Subaru was stolen.

    Have you had a walk around the locality to see if the thieving scroates have hidden it somewhere in order to see if it has a tracker fitted?.

    The last time someone on here had a bike knicked, this was suggested to them and they did a walk around their locality and managed to recover their bike hidden in an alley less than half a mile away.
