To all those that helped many thanks.

To bigjl - shame on you.

The letter was from an Financial Investigator of the Economic Crime Unit.

I had a prompt response this morning confirming I provided all details that were required and nothing to worry about.

Check a bit of the history before making accusations - you'd have seen the 'bad luck' I was talking about. Funnily enough you commented on some of them.

100+ posts 6+ years on the forum.

To all others, thanks again always appreciate the help.

Financial Investigator of the Economic Crime Unit?

Why would I check your post history?

Apparently so - have a read if your interested. Please note the specific bullet point regarding ''Advice on cash seizure powers enforceable through the provisions of the Proceeds of Crime Act.''

You can check posting history so to ascertain based on previous posting threads whether this individual is likely to not be legitimate.

However it seems other posters do not hold you in high esteem either so I am not unique in this regard.

Or am I ignorant to the fact that you too are a Financial Investigator of a Economic Crime Unit?

    Shame.

    Lol

And you think the OP was factual?

Does the simple fact it doesn't make any sense not make you think twice?

Clearly not as you just like having a pop at me.

Well you just carry on policing this forum for us, you're doing a stand up up job and making everyone feel so welcome.

If you've got nothing helpful to say, then don't say it.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

    What's your problem?

Do you actually want the forum filled up with pointless posts?

Ever wondered why so many posters pop up, start pointless threads then disappear?

Would you prefer every thread to end up talking about how great the M3 is and how great a Yaris is with no rear brakes?

To be fair, though, you are pretty poor at differentiating the obvious DMs from the genuine, but unlikely, posts based on posting style, use of language and pattern recognition; instead choosing to jump on any unusual thread, whether posted by a new or long-standing member as 'a tall tale' or 'obvious trolling'.

The person buying a car can only be investigated under the Proceeds of Crime Act if they bought the car with the "proceeds of crime"
If the person buying the car was aware of the fact that it was originally purchased using money obtained from crime, then irrespective of them paying using honestly obtained cash, the car can still be seized from them.

Because of this, the police would be entitled to contact the purchasers of any property sold by someone being charged under the Proceeds of crime act to ensure that they bought the items in good faith and were unaware of how they were originally purchased and it sounds very much like this is what happened to the OP.

TBH, you do more to sour the otherwise helpful and informative nature of this forum than any contributions by the small number of trolls we occasionally get. Your unhealthy obsession with DM and his ilk doesn't do you any favours and isn't doing much for this forum either.

A bit of advice, if you smell BS that much then maybe you should take your nose somewhere else.

Just because YOU have never heard of it doesn't mean that it does not exist.
