House built in 1960 not on Experian register?

Hi all,
Over the last few months I have had a few applications for cards/store credit turned down. This was a big surprise as I'd always had a 'golden' credit but assumed it was down to my change in employment (now self employed).
However, I was turned down for a Very account a month or so ago and rang them up to enquire why. The girl on the phone advised that my address was not registered on the Experian system (which Very use).
The house I live in was occupied by my parents from 1965-1983 after that it was student digs (for Law College students) until 2010 when I bought it off them so it's unlikely that many applications were submitted from 1983 onwards.
I have applied for cards with no problem since moving in to the property in 2010 but maybe that was with companies who use other ratings agencies?
I used an email-in form on the Expedia site to advise on the address problem but had no response. This was a month + ago. I would rather have spoken on the phone with someone but, as often these days, getting contact numbers is rarer than hens teeth.
So any idea how I can check with Expedia about my address?
Thanks

It seems unlikely that this is anything but a mistake. Assuming the property exists on the Land Registry and the Post Office deliver mail to the address, you pay Council Tax on it, then it clearly exists.
As above relying on automated responses is probably the problem.
In fact you could try registering for Experion's credit reference service (they usually offer a free trial) and see if they think you exist when you order from them!Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Try Experian.
Haha, good point! thanks
Also thanks for your advice Bob. I shall try registering with them. At least that should open up more routes for communication with them!
Cheers again,

Check how the address is stored with the post office on their website.0

Also good advice, Sometimes people like to modify their official postal address (eg if you live close to a county/parish border you might pick the posher one) which can create confusion. But you must have selected your address from an online form before.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment.
