Beko Washing Machine

I have a Beko washer bought from Appliances Online 23 months ago, the door leaks and now it has stopped spinning, I contacted the retailer and the gave me the 12 month warranty spiel, I don't think 23 months is a reasonable amount of time for the washer to last, the supplier has offered to pay £50 off Beko's estimated repair bill of £126, is that acceptable or can I push for more?

    Personally I'd probably take it.

If you want more you'd need an independent report stating that it was inherently faulty when you bought it...

When you say push for more what do you mean? Unless you are prepared to take action the retailer can just fob off any pushing from you, regardless of whether you are legally entitled to more.

Also how did you pay? (If you paid by credit card you have another option when pushing.)

Regarding your legal rights, my view is that a even a relatively inexpensive washer should last for more than two years of normal domestic usage. (But a court may, or may not, agree.)

Personally, I wouldn't accept it for one reason.
"£50 off Beko's estimated repair bill of £126"
You might accept the £50, get Beko to call to carry out the repair then they might say that it would cost more than their estimate or that it's actually uneconomical to repair.
If this was to happen and you had already accepted the £50, you would be highly unlikely to get anything else from AO.

If you have an independent appliance repairers near to you, it might be worth getting someone in to diagnose the fault and either see how much they would charge for a repair or if the problems are due to an inherent problem, put this in a report for you.
If you can get this report, AO then have to provide a solution which could be a replacement (unlikely to happen), a repair or a refund (which could be a partial refund to take in account the 2 years use you have had from the machine).
