Vanquis Tactics

I cant stop laughing, I contacted vanquis card some days ago to close my account with them having paid them off, today i received an email saying:

YOU CAN TRANSFER CASH TO YOUR CURRENT ACCOUNT...
which could be
very handy

Need to move funds around?
You can use your Vanquis credit card account to top up your current account.

You could avoid any potential current account overdraft fees by transferring money with your Vanquis credit card account. It’s really easy.

haha, you guys want me to die of debt with you? :rotfl: ...lol am not that stupid, at least youve done your bit for me and off you go.

Yes, the idea that debt is slavery isn't new, quotations about it go back to the bible and Roman times if not earlier.

They don't get the message do they. I closed mine over a year ago and didn't use it for a year before that and last week I got an annual statement from them. And I still get offers by SMS. I just ignore them. I don't stop the SMS messages because they might send me something that's actually useful. Doubtful but you never know.

A company that is advertising the services they offer to their customers???????. HOW DARE THEY!!!.

How is this even a tactic? Almost every large company in the world advertises the services they have to offer.

That is how advertising works - you send it to potential, not existing, customers.

Well you have proven your a good customer and have paid back what you owe plus the interest that you agreed to when you signed up to them. So now they obviously want you to stay as their customer so have sent you an offer.

That is also very common with all different types of company's and when i have rang up to cancel mobile contracts, broadband, breakdown services, car insurance etc; they always offer me a better deal to stay with them....

It's quite a common thing in business to want to retain profitable customers! :rotfl:

You are the Angelina Jolie of customers ;)

They don't want a customer that repays every month nor one that defaults and they have to write off most/all of the borrowings.

Hi new user, and been in a little debt trouble. Working my way to improve my credit score and have paid off a lot this year thanks to this wonderful site! I have a Vanquis card and have had it since 2011 I only have another CC (Barclaycard) I am due to pay off the Vanquis card this month. Should I cancel the card or will this hurt my credit score? I have read lots on this but I'm still non the wiser! Thanks in advance.

    Keep both cards.

Ignore your credit score. Just keep using the cards responsibly - spend and pay in full each month.
