after going through dishwasher.
I've cleaned it. I use a good quality all-in-one and have added rinse aid and salt to see if that makes a difference.
Any ideas?
Thank you.

The chalky residue will either be detergent, limescale or salt. If it is salt, it will dissolve in cold water, if it's detergent then it will come off in hot water, if it is limescale it will come off with vinegar.
Sometimes you get an excess of detergent on the plates because the water in the dishwasher isn't hot enough to dissolve it properly.
Are you in a hard water or soft water area? If you are in a soft water area you may not need so much salt.
If it's a limescale residue, place a cup of white vinegar into the bottom of the dishwasher and run a wash cycle with no detergent.0 -
Thank you.
It's hard water.
Dishes are washed on 55-65.
I'll try the vinegar rinse next.0 -
Is your washer able to be set for rinse aid quantity depending on water hardness?
Mine is, little dial in the rinse aid compartment, I had to phone water co to find exact actaul hardness figureEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
We use shop brand tablet, rinse aid and 65C cycle. Anything less does not work!0

Farway, the plumber set it when it was fitted about 8 years ago.
I'll check with the water co. Thanks.0 -
when did you last clean the appliance?? it gets a build up of fat and residue in the pipes which then reduce washing quality and results in cloudy glasses and dirty crockery.
the top could also be loose on the salt dispenser.
Run the machine through the hottest cycle with a suitable cleaning product.. not soda crystals unless you want to buy a new dishwasher!! (guess how I know that)
Scrub the crockery by hand to get them properly clean again.. repeated washings in the DW won't get it off.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
