Working Tax Credit and renewal

Hello,
I have some questions about wtc...
1. Apparently you have to renew every year to say that your circumstances are the same. Do they send you a reminder or form? Or are you just expected to do it yourself?
2. If they do send a reminder, when do they send this? If they do not send a reminder, when do you have to do it by?
Thanks for your help.

I got mine through yesterday, I should imagine that you will get yours very soon. You have to reply by the end of September I think, otherwise they stop your tax credits - do it as soon as you get it (if you're anyting like me - it will fester in a pile of 'things to do' that don't get sone!).
It is a fairly straight forward, they print out your 'circumstances' and you either check a box to say they are okay or change them in they are wrong. Then there are a few boxes for you to fill in your income for the last tax year - if you are self employed this will be on your self assessment tax return, if you are employed this will be on your P60 (you have to be given this by your employer by the 30th May I beleive). If you are in receipt of certain benefts there is another box to complete - but I guess you can get the info for that from to benefit entitlement letters.
They will definitely send you a form and it's not too scary - so don't worry too much about it.0 -
