They must be very new to the market as I'd not heard of them until today. They only got their supply license at the end of last year so they've probably only just started taking on new customers. You'll probably struggle to find many reviews for them at the moment.

They appear to be run by ex EDF employees so claim to have many years of experience in the energy industry between them. Not sure if that is a good or bad thing...

Just found their twitter feed and it would seem they 'opened' on 22nd April.
  • Hi - thanks for that info. So what's the risk here?

Hi - thanks for that info. So what's the risk here?

The risk with all suppliers is that they could become insolvent owing you money. Your supply is protected as OFGEM will appoint a replacement supplier but you might not get any credit back.

OFGEM is consulting with suppliers re a consumer protection scheme that they want customers to pay for.

  • Ok so I need to make sure I don't go into too much credit then. They are 30% cheaper than my current tariff and 15% cheaper than the next deal so almost in the "too good to be true" - but I can't think I'd be disconnected if they went under - I'd just have to move to ano supplier. The only other risk if I had a direct debit whether they could over charge me if they were dodgy - do I have any protection if they took more than they are allowed to?

Look at separate suppliers for gas and electricity. I use Zog for gas and GBEnergy for electricity.

If a supplier gets into trouble then OFGEM has a policy known as Supplier of Last Resort. You would not be able to switch from an insolvent supplier and a switch could take at least 17 days.

All DD payments are protected by Guarantee.

Edit: Just checked. £40 a year more expensive for me compared to my 2 separate suppliers. Separate suppliers also half the insolvency risk.

Signed up on 23rd June and switch went through yesterday. Meter reading showing correctly on their online portal and first DD payment went out this morning.

Welcome pack comes as a PDF shortly after sign-up then nothing heard from them until 6th July. I could log into their online portal immediately after sign up. I popped them a question by email and they responded same day.

Like Hengus I have the gas with Zog and the electricity was with Green Star until the move to Affect. So far so good it seems.

Are there any cashback offers available through any comparison site?

Can anyone confirm that they produce online, (up to date) monthly bills as per the website? Having had fingers burnt with Extra Energy, now very wary of the new small suppliers.

Been with them a month now, and yes, I've had my first monthly bill via their website.
