Could customs have stopped my credit cards being posted abroad?

in Credit cards
I'm getting a little worried really. I'm currently abroad in Bulgaria for 10 weeks (Just going into my fifth week)
But about three weeks into the trip, I entered my credit card details into a website and it ended up in the wrong hands, so without taking any chances, I called the bank and cancelled the card immediately.
Now my credit card account has two cards, and I thought I could live with just one of them until I get home, but I later found out they cancelled both, so I spoke to my mum at home and asked if she would post them out to me, as well as a birthday card for somebody I forgot, and I said I'd cover the cost of the postage as soon as she knows how much it would be.
She posted them out on Monday via Royal Mail with a tracking number, on a promise it should be with me in 3 - 5 days and today is the fifth day and I haven't had them yet. I can track them but the last known location was at Heathrow ready to be posted abroad.
I was contacting Royal Mail's twitter yesterday when I was having problems tracking and I gave them the tracking number, and then they asked me what was in the parcel. I don't know if it right that they were asking this and it's made me wonder if it's looked suspicious and been opened up and inspected by customs for them containing credit cards (These cards aren't activated yet)
Could this be a possibility?

Your problem is that there is no guarantee how long the Bulgarian postal services take to deal with your post.
Sending stuff to my daughter in Spain can take up to 10 days.
Once out of the hands of RM then forget about estimated delivery times they supplied. Once it leaves the UK RM tracking ceases0 -

Well yeah that was also what I thought, but apparently they use GLS over here, and my tracking number doesn't work with them. I guess I'll just have to wait and see0 -
Should be no customs between the UK and Bulgaria, though post can be officially opened for other reasons. I've never had my EU mail opened.
I would give it 3 or 4 more days.0 -

I just was scared that they might x-ray the package for security reasons, which is perfectly fine in my eyes and I understand. But I thought they might see cards on the x-ray and think there was something fraudulent or illegal about it, and with Royal Mail's customer services on Twitter asking me what was inside, I got a little worried.
But I tracked it yesterday and it said it made it to Bulgaria, and this morning it arrived at the Bulgarian couriers depo, so hopefully they'll arrive tomorrow!0
