Tesco Interest

All my current accounts paid interest in today -except Tesco.

Is this normal for Tesco when the 1st of month is a Friday? Only had the accounts a month and a bit .....

Thanks as always ....

Tesco pays interest on the day you opened the account

Tesco interest is paid on the same date you opened the account, ie per statement month, not calendar month.

Not to do with when interest is paid but can you just leave £3000 in a Tesco account without any transactions or are Tescos likely to object to this?

You can leave the capital in- the one transaction you need is to make sure money is going in per month! (which only needs to visit.) I understand there is no longer a minimum stipulated amount to pay in.

If you have the full £3000 in the account, it might be worth opening a 2nd account (if you haven't already) and splitting the money up, you will get slightly more interest over the year as the money is compounding at 3%.
