Switching Service didn't work

Hi!

I recently used the Co-op Bank Switching Service to move my account from Halifax, tempted by the £150 switch offer. I received a new debit card and pin from the Co-op, and letter stating that the switch would be complete within 7 days.

It's now three weeks later, and my old Halifax account isn't closed - I can log into it as usual. I just got my salary paid into it, and direct debits are going out of it. The switch doesn't seem to have worked.

I'm going to go into my Co-op branch on Monday to sort it out, but so that I go in equipped - can anyone please advise if I am entitled to anything for the error?

Thanks very much

Andrew

I just switched my BOS ( Halifax ) to first direct and I had a call saying its been delayed by 7 days, im guessing Halifax don't like people switching away!

    What are you expecting?

The switch should be controlled by the co op as the bank you are switching to, they should cover any losses that you have incurred, though not sure what these are from your post.

Otherwise they might give a nominal amount for inconvenience but I don't think you'll get a holiday out of it.

I recently switched an account from Halifax to Co-op, and it went without a hitch. You did make the phone call to Co-op to initiate the switch didn't you?

I switched from first direct to coop end of may and all went well on the dates they said. Just a few days ago got my 150 quid. No hassle at all.
