This is a great idea - something I might have to steal. It's so encouraging to see that you're making an impact even if it is still early days. Good luck! Definitely going to subscribe to see how you get on.Enforced LBM June 2016 - DMP started Aug 2016 - £40k across 12 creditors :eek::eek:Estimated DFD 2024:(

Can you not sit down with your OH and talk to him, lay it all on the table and work together?
You need to set up a budget and then stick to it!
My wife and I use YNAB and it was me that was the one who couldn't control my spending. It works for us, maybe give is a try. you can use it on a free trial for 34 days. https://www.youneedabudget.com/Just for today I will not try to solve all my life problems at once. | DFD: [STRIKE]April 2033[/STRIKE] Aug 2023

I've tried YNAB, I just couldn't get my head around it and the paying for something that I have to manually input didn't work for me
I have my own spreadsheets so I know what we spend and when but we have so many unexpected things (eg my fridge died so I've just had to buy a new fridge freezer - it was about 15 years old though so not that unexpected but other things took priority)
ETA whilst my husband is frustrating as he isn't on board, I am equally as bad as I have no willpower and once he gives the green light almost I just think, sod it.
It's a vicious circle!No Spend Days 2020 Jul 24 / 28 Jun 20/25 May 22/25 Apr 20/25 Mar 16/25 Feb 20/20 Jan 20/15

Thank you, this month has gone royally tits up, so the next update won't be so good. Hoping this is one of very few blips on this road... Telling myself we have to have the lows to get the highs... right? RIGHT?! haha!No Spend Days 2020 Jul 24 / 28 Jun 20/25 May 22/25 Apr 20/25 Mar 16/25 Feb 20/20 Jan 20/15

I'm another YNAB fan! It does take some getting used to but once you get the process it's a revelation! I've stayed out of my overdraft since I've been using it and paid quite a bit off my debt.0

We have some big purchases that have just been made and a couple more still to come, but needs must (have used the savings to soften the blow too so am not too unhappy)
I'm not going to get too upset, and just going to plod along. Life happens. We can pay our bills, we're not overloaded. I want them gone but I'm learning to have patience.
As noted above I cleared the loan yesterday. Used the last of the money in savings to get rid of it. So now to get rid of the overdrafts as they also cost money (first direct literally pence but the Halifax one needs to go asap) and then I will feel more relaxed with it all.No Spend Days 2020 Jul 24 / 28 Jun 20/25 May 22/25 Apr 20/25 Mar 16/25 Feb 20/20 Jan 20/15

October update is that there is no update, we've had some huge outgoings, so whilst I have actually cleared the loan and have cleared one overdraft (go me!) and reduced the 2nd to very little, the overall picture is not great.
I want to get a handle on these new debts for a month, get them put into the right places (none are costing me interest at the moment so it's okay, but want to do the right thing for the long term)
I am stopping myself from doing my usual monthly breakdown so that I don't dwell and bring myself down.
I hope you guys understand!No Spend Days 2020 Jul 24 / 28 Jun 20/25 May 22/25 Apr 20/25 Mar 16/25 Feb 20/20 Jan 20/15

So, here I am , back again (long time coming!)
It's been tight but we made it through.
We've been weak and we've been a tad irresponsible but I've given myself a good slap and I know what I have to do.
Just getting my balances sorted for my usual monthly update, please don't judge me too harshly...No Spend Days 2020 Jul 24 / 28 Jun 20/25 May 22/25 Apr 20/25 Mar 16/25 Feb 20/20 Jan 20/15
