I love reading other's diaries, but I am not the type to write one. I won't remember to update it and I'm not witty enough or knowledgeable enough to have one that people will enjoy reading. But I am creating this so I can keep tabs on the payments I've made and my piggy banks etc. It's not working being in my signature as there's just too much and I would like to see each stage to keep me motivated.

If you're reading this, this is going to be boring as hell :o sorry!

Regular loan payment came out and have made my overpayment of £71 made, balance now at £800. Am on track, saved £9 of interest too. Can't wait for this debt to be gone!

Have put £45.50 aside for the Very account. Decided whether to leave payment in virtual piggy bank or put it straight onto the account. Probably the latter but we'll see.

Overdrafts are both cleared but obviously we go back into them through the course of the month. Aim is once they are both under safely £350 to have them reduced to that limit (which is the free overdraft, although not on the Halifax as we are charged the full £15 of the account fee if the account is in debit)

Paid £103 off Post Office CC ( I like balances to be round numbers!)
Tesco CC not due to be paid until after the 9th.

Bit of a change around, due to a !!!! up with the Very account I have put that debt on to the credit cards. Have paid the Tesco Card payment (Paid 105.09 to make it a rounder number, next month will take it to a round 100number)

Ooo some replies! I wasn't expecting this, thank you! I was going on to hold myself accountable for how ,ax we've been with our money this last week as I have just updated my accounts.

Got to keep holding on to the positives though and looks at how far we've come, you guys have been that reminder (albeit unwittingly) thank you!

Can you not sit down with your OH and talk to him, lay it all on the table and work together?

You need to set up a budget and then stick to it!

I have done, he just doesn't think about it quite like I do (because he doesn't deal with the finances)
I just have to nag, which makes me look like a cow...

Thank you for your reply xxx

  • Hey TrushTush,

    Good luck.

It is hard when OH isn't on board, hopefully that will change as it will be much easier for you.
