Was this the Gallagher retail park?
no, it's close to Gallagher though: it's the City Quay Retail Park (on the waterfront - Camperdown St). The Courier link you posted is very interesting. I understand from the people (who work at the office I was at) that there have been a lot of troubles with the "management" of the parking lot - including a lot of confusion on when one can actually park for free, office staff being wrongly "fined", and UKPC employees "hiding in ambush", etc....I also understand that office/shop owners feel this is totally counterproductive as it deters people from shopping there. A total shambles, apparently.0 -
Advice remains the same for City Quay. Keep ignoring anything that isn't form a real court.
One of their employees admitted to me that they "send. 7 letters then give up".0 -
For the avoidance of doubt ... YOU are the registered keeper of the vehicle, as noted on the V5C?
If yes then ignore. If no then please let us know who is (in generic terms) as it is THEY that will have to ignore.0 -
yes, I am the registered keeper (as on the V5C). So from what I understand from reading various FAQ/posts on your forum they'll probably have to obtain my address from the DVLA...I don't want to unnecessarily complicate matters (and it's probably not relevant to this thread) though I do wonder if DVLA can lawfully share such data with UKPC...unless the latter is a public body. Just a thought.0

And the answer is yes they are obliged to.0 -

UKPC are members of the BPA and such can get keeper details from the DVLA.
Despite all the scams UKPC operate, the BPA seem to think they
are fit for purpose ? Simply makes the BPA a very ignorant organisation.
UKPC know that most people in Scotland do not understand the Scottish system regarding these companies.
You now know to ignore these scammers and please .... tell your friends about UKPC and even better tell retailers that whilst they use UKPC, they have lost your custom
THIS FOR SCOTLAND AND N.IRELAND ONLY0 -
And the answer is yes they are obliged to.
That's what DVLA wants you to think but it's not true. The law DVLA is so fond of referring to (arguably) empowers them to release keeper details to private companies but it doesn't oblige them to do so. They could entirely lawfully stop doing so today if they weren't so addicted to this bizarre form of stealth taxation.0 -

They are civil servants tasked with implementing the laws and rules as passed by our elected representives, it's not for them to interpret the legislation and make arbitrary decisions to suit posters on MSE.0
