Buildings insurance quotes

So, I've never had BI before so looking advice as to companies to avoid/seek out. Quotes I've had are much cheaper than I expected, even when ticking "building work being done?", in the region of £126 from admiral, £146 admiral gold to £203 with 'insure it all'..

Before I mentioned building works, LV looked a good option and as a respected brand I was keen, however they're no longer up for it having said that building work is happening.

These quotes also include contents, which is why I'm surprised they low.

Any advice appreciated.

    Ok.

More specific information needed from me or just too many variables in general?

Admiral won't insure as we don't think we will be living there within 30 days of taking out the policy. Going to have to consider moving in sooner or looking for an alternative provider.

Anyone else had a similar issue, ie. 1) having building work done and 2) not living in the insured property for 30 days or more? How did you get around it? Temporary insurance until moved in or just a normal policy?
