Help, how do you cancel an echeque in Paypal?

Hi,
I'm struggling with PayPal, I sent a payment recently for an ebay purchase and discovered that an echeque had been issued. It turns out that the expiry date on my registered credit card had past! I've contacted the seller and explained, offered to cancel the echeque and re-send the payment which she's agreed to.
I realise that I would only be canceling the payment to the seller and the transfer from bank to paypal account will go through.
However this is my problem, I can see the uncleared payment (expected to clear 18th September) and according the the help I should be able to select 'Cancel' from the Actions column but the column is blank.
I've read sellers complain about buyers canceling echeque payments when they shouldn't but I just can't see how they manage it, can anyone help?

The buyer can't cancel e-cheques, only the seller.
Just mail the seller explaining the situation and ask for them to cancel the payment.0 -
Doh

Does the seller have to wait for the e-cheque to clear before they can refund?0 -
