Landline Calling Plan - Charged Twice

Whilst looking at the possibility of upgrading to fibre broadband, I discovered today that two companies appear to be providing my landline calling plan.
TalkTalk provide my broadband, and included is a 'Talk Evening & Weekend (Base Plan)' - although this is listed as £0.00 (a "free" part of the package).
BT provide my line rental. Having looked at my bill, it seems they also charge me around £3.50 a month for an Unlimited Evening & Weekend call plan.
TalkTalk took over my call plan in 2010.
It seems that I have been paying BT each month for a service that TalkTalk is also providing me for 'free'.
Is this just an unfortunate situation, or is there likely a way to recoup the money I've been paying to BT? My thought is that surely when TalkTalk took over the plan, BT's would have been cancelled? Or should I have done this myself?

Yes when you leave 1 provider your services move to the 1. You can ask to recoup some of the money but why did you not notice the money leaving your account.0
