BT Billing beyond contract date

We received our latest BT bill recently dated from July until September. As our contract ends in August and the account was showing BT Sport which us no longer part of our service I asked BT to produce a revised account and was told this was not possible, that I was to pay the whole account and I would be refunded in September if we were no longer customers. We are talking of around £70 here, not loose change as we are just your normal working class family, even if it was a couple of quid it's the principal, why should we pay for a service we are not contracted to at this time. As recently as 28th June I contacted BT repeating my request for a 2 month bill with BT Sport removed and again was told this was not possible. As of today our service has been restricted, I'm not refusing to pay for the part of the service we are contracted to, I really think BT need showing up over this

Hi, BT tried this with me i was given a discount when this didnt appear, i phoned and wrote, stopped my DD ( not the best thing to do )
This payment was paid in to my account at once and not taken off my next three bills.
So someone or something can be done to help you IMO0 -
Your contract doesn't end in August, the minimum term expires...why did you opt for quarterly billing and not monthly ?, it's long been the case, on this type of account, you pay for rental in advance (3 months worth) and call charges in arrears ( 3 months worth) , so you could argue they get the benefit of your rental money, but they could argue your calls are paid for upto three months after you made them
You should be able to change to a monthly payment plan ,so you would have 12 bills a year instead of 4 bills a year, but check that it doesn't commit you to a new minimum term first and that you are happy to pay by direct debit, if you don't want monthly/direct debit I doubt you could do anything but pay for Septembers rental and then if you change provider in August, get a refund of that months rental (about £18)0
