BT and wrong contract end date

Hi

Last year I extended my BT contract for phone and broad band over the phone. The guy told me it was for a year, which suited me because I knew my road was due to be cabled this year.

Now they are saying I signed up for TWO years but I know I didn't.

Any ideas how I can get this sorted as I WOULD NEVER sign up for 2 years

D

Hi, you need to check the e-mail/ letter they sent you when you renew.

As you say you wouldnt sign for two years but if your call was mis heard then you need proof as above

Two years is rather odd as line rental is per 12 months and BB 12 or 18 months .

Have you done something since then that could have triggered another 12 month contract? For example, haggled your deal, or taken up a special offer?

As an example, signing up for free BT Privacy with Caller Display triggers a new 12 month contract:
BT Privacy with Caller Display costs £1.75 a month, but you can sign up to get it free for a year at https://www.bt.com/myfeatures (a new 12-month line rental contract applies).

Or is it that you've paid line rental in advance, and they won't refund it if you cancel?
