Granite worktops

The more expensive the item, the more you can save! Some sort of logic, there, anyway.
It just occurred to me that I ought to give this recommendation. I had my kitchen done up a couple of years ago and extended by using half of my double garage (some saving there!). Main job was to put new floor in and cupboard doors, leaving the carcasses in situ - more money saving, just new doors and you get a new kitchen ;-)
But, the real saving was on the granite worktops. Mad you say, waste of money. But, I saved 50% on what I could have paid by having 95% granite. You see there is this company that manufactures granite sheeting 5mm thick out of granite chippings (=waste product) and a polymer resin. The polymer seals the granite, so you don't get things like red wine stains - a problem with 100% natural granite. Even better, they just stick it on top of your existing work surface!
Installation worked a treat. They measured up one Monday, and arrived the next Monday with all the bits pre-cut and installed it. All for about half the price I had been quoted by a local shop for a solid granite top.

I have _NO_ link with this company (which is actually a group of franchisees). I am just a very happy customer who wants to tell others of the savings I made.
