Buying decent screws (avoiding rounded heads)?

Getting a decent screw these days is not easy....."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Another tip is to try and use a longer handled screwdriver, as it reduces the offset/angle you tend to get if you're not careful (it's far more obvious), which helps avoid camming out.
Personally I tend to use slot head screws for door hinges, having drilled a pilot hole and using a long screwdriver.
For other stuff I tend to use Screwfix gold/turbo screws or similar and good quality bits (they might cost a couple of quid a time, compared to ten for a pound but they tend to be far better).0 -

Numerous times in the past few months i've had to point out to my wife that she's using not only pozi on a philips or philips on a pozi (usual one) but also the bit being used is too small (most screws we've had are pz2 & she's been using a philips 1 for example).
A mistake i used to make myself until someone pointed out where i was going wrong.I bet that went down well.

Why is she not learning the difference.JustAnotherSaver wrote: »It wasn't a problem. She's not funny like that
