They have obligations to provide certain information to you before you become bound by the contract and have to provide confirmation of that information on a durable medium - its also for them to prove they have complied with these provisions of the consumer contract act.

Now normally contracts for the provision of transport services to be carried out on a specific date would be exempt from the right to cancel, but given they don't seem to have complied with the CCRs at all, you may have some wiggle room here.

Morally, cancelling so close to the date is just unfair, so you should expect to pay in full - they cannot resell the date and have no doubt got staff to pay. But as they did not provide any T&Cs (double and triple check this!!) you might have a get out clause...

Personally, I would email all those who agreed to go initially to say that you appreciate they can no longer make it, the amount for the bus is still due in full, so they will need to pay £X. This will not make you popular!!
