Ghana and Nigeria will buy anything which is UK maid, and Bangladesh is place to buy clothes, crafts and so many things.

Ether you don't really understand trade, or on the wind up. I suspect the latter

BMW is one of the largest if not the largest supplier of "company cars" in the UK. This is not likely to change because tariffs means the cars cost 10% more.

One would hope it would change due to shareholder revolt. they should buy UK or non EU vars instead.

    (Sorry I know it’s a typo!)

I suspect that we import more ‘maids’ than we export..!

One big thing you are all not considering is that the citizen of that market may want to have access to product produced in the EU or USA or China. No matter the tariff, people will still buy from those places. BMW is one of the largest if not the largest supplier of "company cars" in the UK. This is not likely to change because tariffs means the cars cost 10% more.

And may not be someone first thought but proximity is a big thing when buying from far away countries as it add to the transport cost. Shipping a 20 feet container from the far east cost approximately £3000 before import duty and export tariffs. A 40 feet truck from Spain, France or Italy around £800-1000....

But hey, we will survive, we will just be poorer!!!

So if we introduce a 10% tariff, this will generate an extra few billion for the government which can be spent on, for example, the NHS.

The actual impact would be interesting would people be happy to pay an extra 10% on a beemer, Audi or merc as opposed to a jag, Lexus or other?

The actual impact of the exchange rate would probably have just as much impact as any tariff, the pound has weakened by over 10% since last week, so it could be a double whammy for European manufacturers.

That balance of payments deficit in maids is particularly bad.

You do know that tariffs work both ways? If the UK adds a duty onto something then the EU will add duty onto our exports. Not only would that make our imports more expensive but our exports less attractive.

One point to bear in mind according to something I was reading:

EU rules / law do not allow a member state to negotiate independent bilateral trade deals so until we have left we can't negotiate individually.
