    Hello Thursday Savers,
Mixed sort of day but a few money saving bits:
*Dropped mr f at the station. Cheaper than him getting the bus.
    *Paid in a cheque.
*Found a nice frame for under a fiver in Wilko's after having no luck in the charity shops.
    *Made tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Cut more lettuce, watercress,,rocket & coriander from the garden for tonight's salad.
*50g underweight on beef strip for the recipe I'm making tonight so am adding 2 sliced onions to bulk it up.
*Made rhubarb & ginger jam with the rhubarb I prepped yesterday. 1 jar for my toast & 4 for December C-Word presents.
*Bought lovely chunky yarn to knit another gift for festivities mentioned above. Had admired it full price & it had been reduced & came with a free pattern
*Bought a couple of Yankee Candle wax tarts at 1/3 off normal price because they were chipped.
*Boiling soda crystals down kitchen sink becsuse it smells cabbagey.
*Decide what to bake for community event using ingredients I already have in stock.
*Treat poorly arm for free using ice & the fantastic advice I received yesterday. Got in car today & actually couldn't move my arm back sufficiently to grab seatbelt! Things need to improve!
*Knit.....if it doesn't hurt my arm.
*Did not.....repeat DID NOT go in 'Monsoon' sale.
Must go now. Cat up to something.

Well done foxglove on avoiding sale ;)
Legomum boo to water, hope you manage to dry them out
Bob exciting times on your business - sounds like a great plan. Best of luck.

Well I called about the job I was interested in, despite the closing date being passed. I only called as it appeared to be readverrised. Anyway, it doesn't matter, it being filled. Stops me having to make a difficult decision ;) fate and all that.
Also found a job for DH, however, decided he was going to apply as its a temporary position. However, progress none the less. Plus found great website for job hunting rather then the usual.

Done all other stuff on my list. All in all a products day. Been looking longingly at my spreadsheet - almost willing the numbers to change. Don't want to wish my life away but really want it to be DH pay day so I can pay off some more and save some :D
  • legomum sorry to hear that!

    Bob excited to hear that!

Just wanted to pop in and share some very small things that I have done which have lifted my spirits (more than is probably cool!)

so yu know I've been doing this "not buying things" challenge? have been doing it since 16th and so far so good. All I've bought in that time is a bag of compost and 3 plant pots (£6.06 :-) ) Have been really inspired to try to do this for a year - but taking it one day at a time! Not doing just for the money saving aspect (although current circumstances it's definitely a plus!) but also want to live more sustainably - trying to reduce any waste, use up everything, make do and mend etc etc.

Anyway! Yesterday was bin day Oh always puts out the bins and he put them out and came back in and said is there anything that needs to go in there as it's very empty!

Today I had run out of fresh coffee - so took one for the team and decided to just have instant :-) (if I go to the shops I'm likely to buy more than I went for and then there's petrol to get to the next town...) then while looking in the larder found 1/2 a pack. Was soooooooo happy!

In other news had a massive art session with dgd, played homemade bingo, all meals from stores, used up titchy bit of chopped tomatoes left over from yesterdays meals

    Hi all

Bob thats really exciting I am really pleased for you.

Been a really stressful day, in fact I nearly had a full on meltdown when I got to pick DS up from work, found he wasnt there and realised my phone was on my desk at home. Oh and I had found a parking space and walked to meet him rather than pay for the car park. All sorted in the end but I confess to getting a little bit overwhelmed and teary for a moment or two.

I have washed two winter coats, covered them in plastic and stored them away for next winter. I have already started to make lists/costs of what DS will need for school in September!

Forced myself to do some work on job no. 2, only 1.5 hrs but better than nothing.

Another really busy tomorrow so its an early night for me.
