How long does it take to build a house

I have purchased a terraced new build property due to be completed in 3 months. Currently, there is only the structure. No cladding, roof, windows, internal walls or flooring.

The build on the property seems to have been on stand-still for about a months, no work done at all. Now to be fair, this could be so the builders can first finish other properties on the development which are along the access way, but the developer is not giving me any info.

I am being told not to worry and that the development is on schedule. I find this hard to believe. Does it really only take 3 months to put on the roof, cladding, windows, waterproof and do the entire inside including kitchen cabling and floors, etc?

They used to build entire house at the Ideal Home Exhibition in a few days!

A Huf Haus goes up in a few days, finishing takes longer, say two months maybe more.

    Cheers fj

I currently live "on a building site" renting one of the completed properties. I have seen many different phases completed in a very short space of time - They literally go up in a few days / weeks.

We have lived here around a year now and 2 other phases have been completed! It's crazy watching them all go up.

a PLC house builder would typically take between 16 - 20 weeks from start to finish to construct a house.
