we have waffles at the weekend and use Jamie Olivers recipe (minus the huge amount of butter - we use 25g not 100g he recommends) and they are delicious.
Our waffle maker was £9.99 on eBayCurrent Mortgage balance - £363,785.35/£420,000 (highest point Oct 2022).0 -
I did a recipe recently that cut the sugar and used orange juice to sweeten. They didn't taste orangey and were still yummy - and I have quite a sweet tooth!
I use a mini waffle maker I picked up off Freecycle.0 -
I bought my waffle maker from lidl a few years ago but it comes with changeable plates so is also a panini press and a toastie maker. i use the good housekeeping recipe which has always worked for me
4 oz self raising flour
150ml milk
1/2 tsp vanilla extract (tastes fine without)
1 egg separated
1 tbsp sugar
2oz melted butter (i usually leave this out and still works)
whisk egg white till soft peaks, in separate bowl combine flour, milk, egg yolk, sugar, butter and vanilla extract (if using) then fold in egg white.
sometimes i throw in blueberries to the batter, makes a nice change

just an update
I tried him with a pancake and he will eat that
Much better as no sugar in them, plus they are quick to cook in the morning (I make the mix the night before) 0 -
Great solution! You can freeze pancakes pre-cooked and then just reheat, if that would also help.0

What about drop scones? They're thicker than pancakes and my eldest has always preferred those to pancakes
