Is it ok to sell tickets I have won?

Whilst I completely accept that it is of course up to the winner to do whatever they wish with their prize, I must admit I was very sad a few years back when a comper won tickets to see a singer my Nan was a huge fan of and would have loved to have gone. The tickets were listed to be sold a few hours after the winner announcement so I'm not sure if the winner ever had any intention of going in the first place.
I appreciate circumstances change, and it's entirely up to anyone what they do with their prize but I personally never enter for items like tickets for musical artists or specific interests if I don't want to go as I'd hate that a true fan may miss out.
Just my tuppence worth - I don't wish to offend x0 -
I kinda get what you mean I-Owe-You, I won tickets a few weeks ago for Download Festival, tickets that I actually wanted so I might have been a bit miffed if someone won them and just sold them on ... but it's kinda like a competition for a say a 40" TV. If someone wins it the chances are they will sell it 'cause they've already got a 50" TV in the living room, or dump it in a spare room and never use it whilst someone out there will really need a TV 'cause theirs has broken / really small / really old and they can't afford to replace it etc ... at what point do you draw the line?.
In saying that, I don't generally enter comps with the intention of selling any prize, there's always a thing in the back of my mind "oh, Chris would like that, My mum would like that" type thing, If I don't get that then I generally don't enter.
I understand with tickets to events it's a bit of a different animal but at what point does the line get drawn. "I'd hate for a fan to miss out" ... "I'd hate for someone that really needs it to miss out" ... tough moral dilemma.0 -
If there is no name on the ticket and no mention of ID then you are probably OK to sell them on as long as the promoter doesn't find out.
Personally I have given aways hundreds of pounds worth of tickets over the years - I usually enter because I want them or I enter for someone else because I know they would love to go. I don't enter if I know I deffo can't go or it's not my thing.
But like others say - it's a personal thing and yes I have sold other prizes in the past (needs must and all that)

I don't think the issue here is to do with morals and whether we think it is right or wrong to enter to win prizes with the intention of selling them on. I personally have nothing against people doing that as I often do it myself. What I am merely saying is (and as from my example above) is that it is much harder to sell on tickets because if the company finds out then they can make the tickets invalid with a single phone call. So the winner loses out as they would have to reimburse the person/people they sold the tickets to.
If you won eg a tv or an iPad and sold it on, it would be very unlikly that the company would come knocking at your door demanding the tv or iPad back if they were told you have sold it on ebay!:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0 -
As others have said it is difficult to sell tickets on but not impossible. Regarding morality I am unsure why you are even asking. Absolutely nobody's business whether you sell them or not. I wouldn't dream of asking other comp Try and sell them hun. We're all here to win and what we don't want to keep we sell. if others don't like it tough luck they can go dance round a maypole with a flower in their hair and cast their delusions of superiority elsewhere.August-September 2017: Lots of stuff

Gumtree would probably be helpful for selling tickets but do mention they were complimentary! (if they state value £0) People will still buy them but you will have mention there is of course no cover or refund if the event is cancelled which you usually get with Tickets. Hope that helps a little.Ask.. Believe.. Receive..

Most competitions state that tickets are not for resale. So if you do it, your tickets SHOULD be cancelled.Best wins: Luxury weekend in Russia, family holiday to France, catered BBQ for 20, Selfridges shopping spree, jolly to Majorca, £1,000 See Tickets vouchers, £500 John Lewis vouchers, five-star weekend in Provence!

Most Tickets state not for re sale but almost everyone does!
I noticed Goodwood Festival of Speed all have printed on them Not for resale but eBay was flooded with people selling them so crack on. Gumtree is pretty good for Ticket sales I sold some last year and stated they were complimentary and someone offered me a very reasonable amount infact he gave me extra for being able to help him as the event had sold out. Just cover barcodes / scanable bits. Promoters send out hundreds of tickets they would noway bother to see who used what or went where I don't think they really care that much!0
