Lying by omission is hiding facts to misrepresent. That's clearly not the case here

How do you lie to the electorate when the figure you're trying to 'suppress' is in the public domain and easily available.

then there was no brexit lie as the figure was freely available

    the point is
unfortunately it is the normal in politics to misrepresent the facts.
to you a lie by commission is somehow worse than one by omission and I agree ; but in both cases the intention is to mislead

Warped logic even by the standards of someone that makes partisans look like they can't make their minds up.

I laughed out loud when I read that, because it reminded me of 'Hitcher's guide to the galaxy', that scene when the alien spaceship comes to destroy the Earth and when they hear the protesters they say:

There’s no point in acting surprised about it. All the planning charts and demolition orders have been on display at your local planning department in Alpha Centauri for 50 of your Earth years, so you’ve had plenty of time to lodge any formal complaint and it’s far too late to start making a fuss about it now. ... What do you mean you’ve never been to Alpha Centauri? Oh, for heaven’s sake, mankind, it’s only four light years away, you know. I’m sorry, but if you can’t be bothered to take an interest in local affairs, that’s your own lookout. Energize the demolition beams.

So did you I think, it was a joke! I've just 'unthanked' you, because of your lack of sense of humour.

EDIT: Actually when thinking about it, I can't ever remember you showing any tendency to demonstrate that you have a sense of humour in all my time here.

Not for anyone with a normal sense of humour (thanks for the confirmation), don't give up your day job.

it would seem that jokes don't always improve one's humour

Well, I'm sorry to hear that you are not in good humour, but from your apparent demeanor on this website for the last few years, that has been quite noticeable.
