Hi All,
I am just looking for a bit of advice from someone who has experienced commuting from Warrington (or surrounding areas) to chester on a daily basis, i am just looking for some advice as to how bad the traffic is I will more than likely be heading through warrington town centre, daresbury expressway and then the m56. I pretty much know what to expect through warrington and daresbury eexpressway, i am more looking for advice on what the m56, a56 and the road into the city centre I beleive it is called george street? is like on daily basis?
any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance

M56 can get choked up around the M6 junction at busy periods0

I would suggest taking the train. George St is a quick walk from the station. 30 mins each way £11 ret
Probably going to Cester is OK but coming home the queue for the M6 junction tends to start at the Helsby junction before Runcorn0 -
thanks for the advice, the job is just off st martins way this looks like it could be very busy in rush hour traffic is that correct?0

Basically once you cross the A41 you will be queuing to get in or out whether you come in on the A56 Hoole Way or A51 Vicars Cross. St Martins Way and Nicholas Street are the main commute roads.
Unfortunately there are no cut throughs. The centre of Chester within the 'inner ring road' (St Oswalds, St Martins, Nicholas St) is effectively a no go for private cars.
Car parking is not cheap in Chester unless you will have your own parking at work0 -
I echo the train option, only about 10 min wals from the station at most.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

Driving through Warrington will be awful during rush hour. Also there are frequent incidents on the M56 between Frodsham and Helsby. Take the train if you can!0

If it's only the Chester end causing worry, would you get away with using the Park and Ride to do the last bit? Park there and bus into the city centre for £2 a day?0
