Getting a bank statement with ID

I would be grateful for any help. I am trying to help a friend who has just separated from her abusive husband. She is trying to get hold of a bank statement for their joint bank account, she has left the home and is in temporary accommodation. She did take with her her driving license, passport and a mobile phne bill. This is all the ID she has. Can she get hold of a bank statement over the counter with this?
Many thanks

All she needs is the passport. It's hopefully already been registered with the bank and they can easily see it is her, the date of birth matches and her signature matches the one on record and as she as a joint account holder she will have full access to the account which includes printing copies of transactions for her records.
The transaction list won't be good enough for identity purposes though but it will be good enough to prove to council/DWP/HMRC how much (or how little) money is in the account.
My advice...close the account. Either person named on a joint account can close the account.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

My joint Santander account required a form with both parties signing it to close the account.. so it may be possible at some banks but not all.
I got a statement without any of those thing.. I know my account number and sortcode.. and I signed a piece of blank paper and they compared the signature on the paper with the one on the system and gave me the statement.. I didnt even have my bank card!!.. this was last week at Lloyds!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Thank you very much for your help. She has no details of the account, he made her destroy her bank card and has complete control of the finances.0

Closing the account without having another to pay the proceeds into wouldn't be great, if it's even possible, but it may well be possible to cancel single authority, so that any transactions have to be done jointly. However I'm not sure that's possible if the husband is doing internet banking (fairly sure it won't be with all banks).Signature removed for peace of mind0
