Just to add if you have a local TPS you should be able to pick up original VAG pads for £16 (if they have cash account setup for public)

On many cars you can see the pads through the wheels. I certainly can on my Discovery. Alloys make this easier over steel wheels.

Discovery alloys are quite open as are many performance cars compared to a lot of normal cars, it would be impossible on most cars, from my experience, current car, a Megane Mk3, no chance, previous car, a Qashqai with diamond cut alloys, again no chance, previous to that a Vecra C, no chance, previous to that an Astra H, no chance, previous to that an Audi A4 2.0 20v no chance.

I have a Vectra C and you can quite easily see the outer pads and how much they are worn by.

Well done - it was the correct thing to do.

Remember to to try to avoid any harsh braking for the first couple of hundred miles, until the new pads have bedded in.
