Assuming you are referring to the city centre Hilton, you will not find free parking nearby. However, the hotel will offer a parking service - have you asked how much it is?
I would not advise using the Park and Ride/ Glide sites, they are starting to crack down on people leaving their cars overnight, and I know of two people who have been clamped.Gone ... or have I?0 -
Not free but your nearest car park would be at the Victoria Shopping Centre.

www.thetram.net.
Deciding on where you are coming in from, you can park at Phoenix Park, The Forest, Wilkinson Street, Hucknall or Moor Bridge. The Forest is closest to the city, but you will of course hit more traffic getting there. The tram costs £2.40 return, irrespective of which stop you use.
Enjoy! xGone ... or have I?0 -

If you want to walk it, it's only 1.17 miles from the park and ride, so should take about 20-30 mins! It's free to park!
I wouldn't leave your car overnight there though!!0 -
