Recently applied for 0% card turned down

Options
Hi
I recently applied for a 0% credit card to transfer a balance as I'm trying to be debt free. I was turned down as I didn't meet lending criteria. I think the issue might be that I recently change my name by deed poll because I got married. It seems that when I do an eligibility check on MSE it doesn't find me with my married name but does with my maiden name. Has anyone else had issues like this and can you advise what you did in order to sort the problem out?
Thanks in advance

    Apply in your maiden name.

It can take a while for everything to catch up so as as you need a card now just apply in your maiden name and once you've got the card send in a copy of your marriage certificate and change your name with the CC company. The CRA's will then be updated and eventually you should be able to apply for a card in your married name.

If you get married you don't need to change your name by deed poll...you just use your marriage certificate. You can use both your birth name which is your name and your married name or a combination of the two names. Whichever is most convenient.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p
